The conversion and extension of the Raiffeisenbank Rohrdorferberg-Fislisbach is one of our showpieces in terms of architecture and complexity. The Raiffeisen Bank building, which was constructed in 1998, is to be practically doubled in size by means of an extension. The project continues the existing functional relationships and strengthens the bank in its overall architectural expression. Structure, statics, riser zones, stairs and lift remain in their functions and are supplemented with the required areas and rooms on the respective floors. This creates an exciting hybrid of old and new, without many openings and breakthroughs. The additive volume makes the "building on" clear, but hardly distinguishes between the old and the new. The existing building and the extension merge into a new whole. On the public side of the street, the building is sculpturally reminiscent of country houses that have been extended several times or of an assembled small town or village ensemble. A new, vertically laminated skin spans all façade surfaces. This principle succeeds in weaving the volume into a new whole, despite retaining the existing windows and façades.
